What information we collect

  • Enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, the property address and any details you give us when you contact us by phone, email or through a form on this website.
  • Instructions: information needed to carry out a survey, valuation, schedule of condition or energy assessment, such as your contact details, the property address, details of the purchase or tenancy, and information about the property and its occupiers.
  • Payment and accounts: the details needed to invoice you and record payment.
  • Website use: basic technical information about visits to this site. Our visitor statistics are collected without cookies and do not identify you.

How we use your information and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation (our legitimate interests, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract).
  • To carry out the work you instruct us to do and to manage our relationship with you (performance of a contract).
  • To keep records required by our professional body, the RICS, our professional indemnity insurers and HMRC (legal obligation and legitimate interests).

Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information that does not lead to an instruction for up to two years. We keep client files and reports for up to 15 years after the work is completed, so that we can meet our regulatory and professional indemnity insurance obligations and deal with any later queries or claims. After that, information is securely deleted.
